Hi everybody!!!
i'm just an apprentice in hungarian, but i love the sound of the languag, and, above all, i love Budapest, so i wanna learn.....
I would like to know if some of you can suggest me some hungarian bands, possibly of rock music, or punk, or also some othe kind.....
except metal and slow pop, which i dont really like!!!
Don't exist in hungarian some equivalent of Offspring or Green Day???
i'd like to know some names, and then i will search them with some programme in internet.
Its a good way to learn some words, i've recently found a very good polish group (Offside) and i saw it's useful........
Thank you for your help!!
Viszontlátásra!!!!!
Nicholas
(i'm from Sardinia; I speak sardinian, italian, spanish, english, portuguese, french(not really good), corsican (not really good),catalan(not good), and romanian( a little). |

| There is a group called MAKAM which gets inspiration from many forms of World Music and also from Minimalists like Philip Glass and so is not to my personal taste. I only really care for folk music, either Gypsy (especially the Kalyi Jag group) or Magyar, particularly groups like MUZSIKAS and TÖKRÖS. See the site Passion Music in the UK for details and informative articles. |

I know a group called "Transsylvanians" which characterize themself as hungarian speedfolk. Hmm. See http://www.transsylvanians.de/.
You can find hungarian music groups on allofmp3.com. It's not so easy to find them at first since the site is not too well organized compared to amazon. But if you search for typical hungarian words or names (try szerelem, tamas, sziv etc.) quite a few pop up. Maybe you find something there that suits you.
To listen and understand I think children songs are a cool source. I particularly like the "micimackó" (winnie the pooh) song for example. I think it is from Koncz Zsuzsa.
